GERRITZEN and GERRITZEN was founded in 1927 by brothers, Al F. and Leo W. Gerritzen.  In 1956, Al's son, Ray A. Gerritzen joined his father in practice.  Following in the family tradition, Ray's son, Michael A. Gerritzen joined his father in practice in 1986.  Today, Michael continues the practice. 

 

The firm is responsible for a number of landmark decisions in Missouri.  The firm specializes in Plaintiff's personal injury trial work.  This includes both civil cases and workers compensation claims. 

 

Michael A. Gerritzen obtained his Bachelor of Science from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1982.  He did reseach under a proposal from the American Heart Association in 1982.  He graduated from Loyola University School of Law and was licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri in 1986.  He was licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in 1987.  He was licensed to practice law in the Superme Court of the United States in 1990.  He has had numerous jury and bench trials in Illinois and Missouri, including civil cases and workers compensation claims.  He has filed briefs and/or given oral argument in numerous appeals, including appeals before the Labor & Industrial Relations Commission, Missouri Court of Appeals, the Missouri Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
